Snacks: A Personality Indicator?
Megan
The purpose of this experiment was to find out if a person’s favorite snack choice can indicate certain aspects of their personality. This was done by setting out eight different snack choices (popcorn, tortilla chips, nuts, cheese curls, snack crackers, pretzels, meat snacks, and potato chips). Then each subject chose their favorite snack, ate it, and filled out a
questionnaire regarding science fair projects about snacks as personality indicator
which was based on Dr. Alan Hirsch’s book, What Flavor is Your Personality? Discover Who You Are by Looking at What You Eat After collecting the data, I decided to add the variable of having subjects choose their favorite snacks and identify their personality traits without having to physically choose and eat the snack. So, I created a website with the same survey on it. I received data from a total of 85 subjects. After analyzing my data, I found out that the subjects whose personality traits displayed no match to their favorite snack choice and the subjects whose personality traits had some match with their favorite snack choice were pretty much 50/50. This data neither proved nor disproved my hypothesis. So, I broke my results down even further to check the percentage of matching personality traits.
After analyzing that data, I concluded that according to the sampling in my project, snacks are not a very
accurate personality indicator. Candy Chromatography you do become a food detective as you do lab experiments. Make Old Fashion Rock Candy Lab. Eat and drink your chemistry experiments with the Fizz Wizard and Jammin' Jelly Reaction Kit!
